For families with children aged 2 to 12

Purposeful screen time.Stronger young minds.

Yodiah is a family learning app where you decide what screen time is for. Stories, songs, games, quizzes, and creative play are designed to be safe, inside a session you set - right down to how it ends.

Why we're building it

Most children's apps are built to hold attention for as long as possible. Yodiah is built around the limit you set.

Digital media can teach and delight. But most of it is designed to hold a child's attention, not to help a family use screens with intention. Yodiah moves the goal: from more minutes on screen to more value inside the minutes you've already decided on.

Yodiah Time

A screen-time routine you can recognise

Safe. Intentional. Enriching. One short session, from your intent to a calm ending.

You choose

Set the purpose and the time

Pick what today's session is for, whether that's reading, numbers, a song, or a drawing, and how long it lasts. Daily limits or a single session, it's yours to set.

They enter

A curated world, not a feed

Your child lands in a space shaped by their age and your intent. Stories, songs, games and creative tools are chosen by people. There is no open-ended discovery to drift into.

They learn and make

Watching and doing, side by side

A story is followed by a question. A song by a game. A lesson by something to draw. Active and passive balance is built in, so children take pauses from the screen while still using it.

It winds down

A warm ending, prepared in advance

Gentle prompts let your child know the session is coming to a close, in time to finish what they started. No cliff, no bargaining, no surprise cut-off.

You see it

A short summary, not a dashboard of minutes

What they explored, what they made, and one practical suggestion for next time. Enough to feel involved, without turning screen time into homework for you.

What we heard from parents

The trade-off every parent knows

102minutes a day

Dutch parents report children aged 0 to 6 spend an average of 102 minutes a day on digital media in 2026. The quality and boundaries of that time are a daily family question.

  • Time

    Too much, too early

Screen time arrives before the habits to manage it. Parents want boundaries that hold without a fight at the end.

  • Choice

    Discovery becomes drift

Algorithmic recommendations extend viewing past what a parent intended, and take the next choice out of their hands.

  • Value

    Learning is fragmented

Videos here, games there, a language app, a drawing app, and screen controls somewhere else. Nothing holds it together.

Multilingual by design

Language is part of the learning, not an afterthought

Yodiah localises the whole experience: voice, songs, captions, activities and parent guidance, rather than subtitling a video. English comes first, then Dutch and Yoruba, with more languages added as families ask for them.

Schools, educators and partners

Help us prove a better standard for children's screen time

Yodiah's first year is a sequence of evidence-building pilots with a focused cohort of families. We're looking for people who work with children and want to shape what purposeful screen time should mean.

  • Pilot and research network

Parents, educators and child-development experts who can take part in structured beta validation and tell us plainly what works.

  • Schools and family networks

Classrooms, after-school programmes and parent communities in the Netherlands who want to trial Yodiah Time with real families.

  • Content and language partners

Educators, animators and native-language specialists who can help localise the experience, starting with Dutch and Yoruba.
